Cometic C4349-036 is a multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket for the BMW M42B18 and M44B19 four-cylinder engines, made to order in an 86mm bore with a .036 in compressed thickness.

This is the go-to thickness for a stock-deck E36 318 or Z3 1.9 rebuild where you want to keep factory compression while moving to a stainless MLS seal that tolerates boost, heat cycling and aluminum-to-cast-iron expansion far better than a composite gasket. Requires no sealant and suits a properly resurfaced head and block.

Verified fitment: 1991-1998 BMW 318i, 1991-1997 BMW 318is, 1995-1999 BMW 318ti, 1996-1998 BMW Z3 (M44 1.9).
