996 Reliability — IMS Bearing
The 996 Carrera, particularly early 3.4L versions, is known for the Intermediate Shaft Bearing (IMS) failure mode. If your 996 hasn't had this addressed, the IMS retrofit — combined with an RMS seal replacement — is the most important reliability upgrade you can perform. Suspension
