The extra-oil-clearance version of ACL's standard-size M40 main bearing set. Same journal size as the regular set, but machined to run a wider oil film.

Verified fitment: 1996-1998 BMW 318i, 1996-1997 318is, 1996-1999 318ti and 1996-1998 Z3 Roadster.

Builders choose extra clearance when an M40 is going to see sustained high rpm or track heat, where the wider film gives the oil more room to carry load away from the journal.

Available to order at Rev Auto Club. If you are doing a stock rebuild rather than a performance one, the standard-clearance set is the right part instead.
