Bilstein 34-030172 is a B6 Performance 36mm monotube rear strut insert (cartridge) for the classic longitudinal-engine Audi quattro chassis of the 1980s. It slides into the original 55mm strut housing and reuses the factory spring and top mount.

Verified fitment: 1984-1985 Audi 4000 Quattro S, 1986-1987 Audi 4000 Quattro CS, 1988-1989 Audi 80 Quattro and 90 Quattro, and 1983-1985 Audi Quattro (Ur-Quattro) with 55mm outside-diameter rear struts (verified at Bilstein and Turn14).

For an aging quattro this is the sensible rebuild path: fresh gas-pressure damping restores the planted rear end these cars are known for without changing the stance.

Available to order at Rev Auto Club. Sold as a single insert; fit two for a complete rear axle.
