The Cometic C4348-036 is a three-layer MLS cylinder head gasket for the BMW M42B18 and M44B19 four-cylinder, machined to a valve-pocketed 85 mm bore with a .036 in compressed thickness.

Verified fitment: 1991-1998 BMW 318i, 1991-1997 BMW 318is, 1995-1999 BMW 318ti and 1996-1998 BMW Z3 (M42/M44 engines). Confirm bore and thickness before ordering.

The .036 in section is close to factory thickness, which makes this the straightforward choice for a standard M42/M44 head gasket replacement where the surfaces have not been cut. Viton-coated stainless layers seal dry, no sealant or re-torque needed.
