Order of operations matters on a boosted car. Supporting hardware — fuelling, an upgraded intercooler, and adequate cooling capacity — has to be in place before the turbo can safely deliver its rated airflow, and engine internals have to survive the cylinder pressure that comes with it. If you are planning past roughly 500 hp on a stock-block BMW, Audi or Porsche engine, budget for ARP head studs and rod bolts in the same build.
