Porsche's factory intervals stretched longer on modern cars, but most specialists and enthusiasts change more often than the maintenance minder suggests. Oil sitting for a year+ is the enemy, especially on cars that don't rack up miles.

OX254D4 vs. OX254D5: Modern water-cooled 911s (997.2 / 991 / 992) take the OX254D4. Some later 991.2 / 992 builds switched to the OX254D5 (revised housing O-ring), and the two are not always interchangeable. If your car is a later build, verify by VIN before ordering — or send us your VIN and we'll confirm the correct filter.
The 993 is the tricky one — its dry-sump system uses a large auxiliary filter (OC213) and a small engine-mounted filter (OC229). Do both. Our 993 service kit includes the pair.
Oil weight
Most modern water-cooled 911s run a 5W-40 full-synthetic; air-cooled and older cars often use heavier grades (e.g., 20W-50 for vintage). Always confirm the correct specification and capacity for your exact model year — or grab a matched kit so you don't have to guess.
